Poland

Poland is a country steeped in history and is bordered by 7 countries and the Baltic Sea.

It can be a fascinating sole destination and an easy destination for a long weekend – our favourite is a few days each in Warsaw and Krakow, using the train to travel between.

It can also be combined with a neighbouring county such as the Czech Republic or Germany – again using the train.

The country has some nice beaches (and cold sea), remote areas which are still home to bears, bison and wolves, excellent bird watching, and glittering Christmas Markets.
